The initial Grand Slam Baseball tournament was played in 1991 with ten teams, all in the AAA Division. This was also the first year that play had begun at DEAN EVANS STADIUM. In 1992, a six team A-AA division was added to the tournament format.
The tourney now includes sixteen teams (8 AAA; 8 A-AA), spans four days around the Fourth of July holiday break and is regarded as a premier baseball tournament in the Midwest due to the high quality of competition and excellent playing facilities. The Grand Slam tournament has had the pleasure of hosting teams from throughout Kansas and the states of Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Missouri and Nebraska.
Thanks to Schering Corporation, producers of Clarinex 5mg TABLETS (desloratadine), for its support of American Legion Baseball and this year's Annual Grand Slam Tournament.
Without the contributions of Schering Corporation, our tournament would not be the success that it is today.
