The
initial Grand Slam Baseball tournament was played in 1991 with ten teams, all in the AAA
Division. This was also the first year that play had begun at DEAN EVANS STADIUM. In 1992,
a six team A-AA division was added to the tournament format.
The
tourney now includes 17 and Under (17U) & 19 and Under (19U) teams, spans four days around the Fourth of
July holiday break and is regarded as a premier baseball tournament in the Midwest due to
the high quality of competition and excellent playing facilities. The Grand Slam
tournament has had the pleasure of hosting teams from throughout Kansas and the states of
Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Missouri and Nebraska.
Admission
Prices: $5 per day for adults 18 and over; $3 per day for persons 10-17
